About
Introducing the Architect of “Documenting Care at Home”
Valerie Falzo is a registered nurse who retired in 2014 to take care of her friend who had been diagnosed with cancer of the jaw. For three years, she coordinated and administered the care to her friend, Eliane.
Even though Valerie had been in nursing for over 40 years, she was overwhelmed by the complicated tasks and extensive level of care demanded of her. Out of self-preservation as it were, she developed this system of documenting the care she was giving to Eliane and a method of keeping track of MD appointments, test schedules, and test results as well as organizing the bills paid and the insurance explanation of benefits (EOB’s).
After Eliane had passed, Valerie had also lost her Mom and brother-in-law (who was 39). As part of her grieving process, she wrote a book entitled, “Extraordinary Souls I Have Known”, not only honoring and celebrating those who she had just lost but also many others in her life who have passed and likewise contributed to the woman she has become. During the writing of this book, Valerie realized that perhaps people going through similar circumstances could benefit from this system and so the “Documenting Care at Home” course was born.
If you are involved in or facing this very difficult responsibility of caring for your loved one, or you have personal medical conditions that require constant supervision and management, please allow me and this course to teach you and perhaps your loved one how to navigate this very complicated healthcare system, empower you to take back some of the control that has been stolen and help to make this life altering time an experience instead of a nightmare.
